I tailor wildlife experiences, primarily in East Africa and India for first time safari goers, wildlife enthusiasts, professional photographers or anyone wanting more than the run-of-the-mill safari.
I have worked alongside local experts, indigenous communities and managed a safari camp. I have researched and written about human-wildlife conflict in India and I have recently put together a mammal guide for the animals found in several conservancies in Kenya.
I have spent a lot of time working with and talking to tourists, real wildlife enthusiasts, tour operators, guides and others connected with the safari industry and I have personal experience of the best and also the rest. I know what creates that ‘extra’ and what suits different tastes.
I’m passionate about reducing human-wildlife conflicts, supporting local communities, protecting vital habitats, and seeing nature at its best along the way. I’ve helped to establish community empowerment. One of the easiest ways for me to do all these things, is by helping you, the discerning wildlife tourist, to go on the safari of your dreams.
Having moved to Nairobi several months ago, one would think it'd be much easier to plan a safari. Turns out it is just as confusing as from afar! We had too many options and too little knowledge of what any trip would really be like. Rustom helped sort us out immediately! Within a week of contacting him to help us pick an adventure, we found ourselves in an amazing conservancy in the Maasai Mara: fawning over cheetah and lion cubs, enjoying the spectacular scenery and wildlife, and feeling like kings in an amazing camp. And we seemed to have the entire landscape to ourselves! Rustom was super knowledgeable, attentive to our needs, and responsive in setting up this once-in-a-lifetime trip - and all at the last minute. If you're looking for an amazing safari experience that also supports local communities, I cannot recommend Safarinut or Rustom enough.Sam W | Nairobi, Kenya
We realized we had 24 hours in which to go on a safari. Rustom at Safarinut, set up most unforgettable trip. We started with a walking safari, coming within 30m of various herbivores. We saw an adult cheetah from the window of our tent and a mother and her cubs later that evening. A post-dinner night safari revealed hyenas hunting various herbivores.
Rustom designed the trip so that we could see as much as possible in a short period. He spoke with us and our guides throughout so that we got the most out of the trip and within an hour of getting into the jeep in the morning, we saw 14 lions!
We returned to Nairobi, after one of the most spectacular trips of our lives. A huge thank you to our hosts at the conservancy, and to Rustom at Safarinut, whose expertise and long friendship with our hosts made the trip possible. I couldn’t plan a day tour in my home city with 24 hours’ notice, I have no idea how Rustom pulled this off.

Rustom took care every step of the way for my very first Safari in Kenya. His attention to detail regarding my wishes for accommodation, dining and each daily itinerary of the trip are exceptional. Even during personal circumstances which required a sudden change of plan, Rustom was able to handle these effectively and professionally, giving me total peace of mind. I would highly recommend Rustom's services for newbies and seasoned veterans of the Safari adventure!James W | London, UK
This was our first safari and we had an awesome experience thanks to Safarinut’s excellent and detailed advice. There were six of us and we stayed in 3 conservancies and had the most amazing wildlife experiences, seeing all the big 5 and so much more. We also did some great walks. We plan to return for more!Cyrus and Jessica I | Los Angeles, USA
Rustom (SafariNut) planned a fantastic safari holiday for our group in October. His clear knowledge of Kenya helped immensely in choosing the right camps in which to stay. His recommendations proved to be a huge success, since we had an incredible time out in the bush. We saw a vast array of wildlife, including prides of lions, herds of elephants, and even witnessing a cheetah hunt! His assistance did not stop after the holiday was booked--he continued to help during the trip. On the flight over, Heathrow misplaced my luggage, and he arranged for it to be flown out and transported directly to our camp. Thank you so much for organising such a wonderful trip!Jacob M | Cambridge, UK
This being our first safari, we were hesitant about travelling to East Africa and overwhelmed by the options we'd seen ourselves online. Rustom customised a brilliant itinerary for us based on his extensive knowledge of the region and our special needs (our in-laws are over 65 and have specific dietary requirements). He was able to answer all our questions and did a great job of explaining why he had suggested what he did. He was able to beat others on price for the same itinerary and was on-hand at all times to answer any questions we had. It was a spectacular trip and set the bar for any future safaris to Africa.Radhika and Kamal D | Dubai, UAE
It was my first-ever safari experience and I was absolutely blown away. Rustom was beyond helpful-- it is so obvious that he loves what he does, and he's extremely knowledgable! The communication was flawless and he set us up for the most amazing experience, with remarkably little effort on our part. He made it so easy and helped us tailor the experience to our budget. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much for an unforgettable trip!Gina G | Oxford, UK
Safarinut (Rustom) not only took care of details like papers for my visa, lining up different international flight arrivals for the group and choosing and making all bookings, but went miles beyond. He conspired with the guides to ensure we spotted our favourite animals, coordinated with teams on ground to send us smoothly from one location to the next, and planned with the camps to make sure we had not just a comfortable trip, but a memorable one. Outdoor eating, walks, night drives and a visit to local craft studio added to what was an inevitably incredible wildlife experience. I took off from France expecting a once-in-a-lifetime trip, I returned from Kenya corrected - there will be many a Safarinut trip to come!Mihika S | Paris, France
We went on the East Africa safari experience a couple of years ago and had an amazing time at three different locations in Kenya, with excellent wildlife viewing. We then did the Indian jungle experience, another great trip. Rustom’s planning was perfect and catered to all our needs. We were well looked after from start to finish and our recent trip to Kenya reminded us why we always rely on Safarinut to plan for us.Raj and Karen D | Cornwall, UK
